Payment Policy
Deposit
The deposit should be received within 10 days after the confirmation has been received. The deposit is 20% of the price of the trip, with a minimum of 2500sek per person. In certain cases, the hotels want a partial payment to secure the hotel reservation. In such cases, the deposit may be higher. After the deposit has been collected, the reservation is binding for both parties. If the deposit is not received, we reserve the right to cancel the trip.
Final Payment
The final payment should be received no less than 30 days before the departure date, if no other terms are stated. Special payment conditions may apply during Christmas, New Years and at certain special arrangements. In certain cases, when the departure date takes place during high season, airlines, hotels etc. may require an early pre-payment. At the time of the reservation, the price is based on current exchange rates. If the exchange rates change at the time of the final payment, Meritus Travel has the right to adjust the price accordingly. Such changes will take place, no later than 20 days before the confirmed departure date.
Changes
To change or re-book a hotel reservation costs 350sek per change, if no other terms are stated at the time of reservation. For changes that are done within 30 days before departure date, special rules may apply, 60 days at high season (Christmas and New Years). Changes that involve a new departure destination, departure date or trip destination are considered a cancellation and are treated as a new reservation. When changing flight tickets, the rule of the current airline is applied.
Responsibilities of the traveler
The traveler him/herself, is responsible for knowing the terms of conditions of the trip before the time of purchase, and also has the responsibility of the trip during the trip, not Meritus Travel. The traveler is also responsible for:
- Checking that the confirmation corresponds to the reservation
- Checking that the details of the itinerary are correct when received. Any mistakes must immediately be notified to Meritus Travel for further correction.
- Check that the first and last name on the reservation/tickets is identical to the passport. If they are not correct, it can result in refusal of entry at the check-in at the airport (middle names may not be used as last name, and the first name in the passport also has to be the name that is stated on the flight reservation)
- Confirm with the airline during the trip, to check the departure- and arrival times, since airlines may change times with short notice
- Reconfirm international flights no less than 72 hours before departure, if the airline demands it.
- Show up in good time before for the check-in time, to have amble time for check-in and security checks at the airport
- Show up in good time for pre-booked hotels and tours.
- Stay informed on passport, visa, vaccination and currency regulations etc. The traveler is responsible for adhering to these regulations and any costs involved.
- Check the expiration date of the passport. Normally the passport should not expire within 6 months of the return date.
